Harry Kane is still hopeful that Manchester United will resurrect their interest and launch a bid for him, according to the Daily Mail.

The 29-year-old has spent all his professional career at Spurs so far, but now he is seeking a new challenge.

The England international is reportedly very keen to join the Red Devils who are desperate to sign a new striker.

But despite his contract expiring in 2024, chairman Daniel Levy is demanding a huge £100 million transfer fee.

United are not ready to meet that valuation and have now turned their attention to more attainable targets like Atalanta’s Rasmus Hojlund.

They could return to the negotiating table if the Lilywhites reduce their asking price to around £80m.

Daniel Levy is known to be one of the toughest negotiators in Sport. He will not let go of his most important player unless for a prodigious transfer fee.

But the English businessman is not in a strong negotiating position with Kane’s contract expiring in a year’s time.

Accepting United’s £80m offer looks to be the most sensible choice for the North Londoners as they risk losing the player for nothing next year.

The 29-year-old is unwilling to move to a foreign club because he wants to break Alan Shearer’s Premier League goal record.

Chelsea is another option for the experienced forward but he is unlikely to tarnish his Tottenham legacy by joining the Blues.

Levy is a shrewd businessman and he will not want to lose Kane for nothing next year.

It is likely that he will end up selling the England international this summer, and if that happens Manchester United will be the most likely destination.
