Leicester City’s Tom Cannon and Leicester City’s injury problems have been highlighted ahead of their trip to Norwich.
The summer acquisition has yet to train at City after a stress fracture in his back was revealed during his test following a £7.5 million move from Premier League club Everton.

Leicester City must exercise caution with summer addition Tom Cannon after a stress fracture was discovered in his back.

The striker, who moved from Everton on deadline day for £7.5 million, is yet to train with his new team, who discovered the injury during his physical. While it is a similar ailment to Dennis Praet’s, who has been out for three months, it is possible that Cannon will be back sooner.

Manager Enzo Maresca disclosed Cannon was hurt last week but has now provided further information, stating that the 20-year-old must be monitored carefully to prevent escalating the situation. Maresca said the team is willing to be patient since Cannon is a long-term investment.

When asked if his team had any new injury worries ahead of their trip to Norwich, Maresca stated, “No, fortunately everyone is fine except for Tom.” When he signed, we discovered an issue. We don’t need him right now since he’s a long-term investment. We’d rather be cautious and double-check everything.

“Right now, he’s not training with us.” It will take a long time. It’s a lot like Dennis Praet’s injury. His back has a stress fracture. But we still don’t know how long it will take. He did not participate in any training sessions with us.”

With Jamie Vardy, Kelechi Iheanacho, and Patson Daka all available, City do not need to hurry Cannon. And, with only two players out in Cannon and Praet, Maresca has plenty of alternatives ahead of the season’s first midweek Championship encounter.Tom Cannon: Leicester City say they signed striker despite back injury - BBC Sport

On Wednesday night, the Italian has stated that he will examine changes at Carrow Road. City will play twice a week until the October international break.

“It’s a game every three days,” remarked Maresca. “We need to manage this situation, share minutes, and use as many players as possible.” This was already the cause for the adjustments we made the other day. We’ll see whether we make any additional modifications tomorrow.”
