‘I wanted to say: Ben Foster has now predicted Brentford vs. Everton
Ben Foster has made a comfortable prediction ahead of Everton’s trip to Brentford.
Speaking on the That’s Football YouTube channel, the former goalkeeper claimed that the Toffees will get ‘turned over’ by Brentford this weekend.
Everton will look to pick up their first win of the campaign as they travel to London on Saturday. Sean Dyche’s side have only picked up one point from their opening five matches and are coming under increasing pressure as they bid to move out of the relegation zone.
Meanwhile, Brentford have taken six points from a possible 15, drawing three of their opening fixtures and only winning once.
While Thomas Frank’s side did open the season with a point against Tottenham Hotspur, they do seem to be struggling to shut down teams and were also going to struggle without Ivan Toney.
It was Everton that claimed bragging rights last season, taking a draw on the road before claiming a vital 1-0 win over the Bees in March.
Despite that, Foster seems completely convinced that it will be the home team that pick up their second victory of the season this weekend.
Speaking on YouTube, Mark Goldbridge boldly predicted Everton to take a point away from the Brentford Community Stadium. Foster responded: “I love that because I wanted to say Brentford win. Everton in front of goal are really struggling at the moment.
“I still like the look of Brentford. There’s a calibre of teams that Brentford just seem to be able to turn over quite easily, bottom half teams, and I feel like they will do this again on Saturday.”
Despite his initial positivity around Everton’s chances, Goldbridge went onto admit that he regretted not putting the Toffees down for defeat.
Can Everton beat Brentford this weekend?
Brentford’s difficult start makes this a very important game for Everton.
While it is definitely a hard place to visit, the Toffees should be heading into the fixture sure that they can take the win.
If the Merseyside outfit fail to even claim a point then Sean Dyche could be in big trouble, though he is likely to have matches against Bournemouth and Luton Town to prove himself.
If the team can’t come out on top in any of their next three games then there will be huge concern over the Merseyside derby next month. The Toffees have scored one goal in their last four meetings and their current attacking struggles make it highly likely that that number won’t change.
