Leicester City’s newest news includes Enzo Maresca’s warning to Harry Winks, a transfer claim for Wilfred Ndidi, and Fulham’s interest.
FLW looks at the most recent Leicester City news.
The King Power Stadium is rarely silent.
The Foxes had a hectic summer at both ends of the spectrum, and their start to life in the second division has been as dramatic, with them presently sitting strongly in the promotion calculations.
Without further ado, here is the most recent Leicester news…
Harry Winks receives a message from Enzo Maresca.
At the moment, there isn’t much Harry Winks can do wrong.
The 27-year-old has unsurprisingly established himself as one of the Championship’s finest technical operators and quite literally put in a flawless display during his side’s 2-0 midweek victory at Norwich City, with all of his 83 passes being successful.
However, just six of them were slanted in the last third, and Maresca has advised the midfielder to improve in this area.
“There is always room for improvement, even for Harry,” the Italian manager told the Leicester Mercury.
“There’s no question he can get better. He can probably enhance his ability to play sometimes forward and sometimes defensively.
“Everyone has the potential to develop. It doesn’t matter their age, or if they play for the national team or in the Champions League; they may progress day by day.”
Wilfred Ndidi accepts a move.
Many people were surprised to see Ndidi stay in Leicestershire when the summer transfer window closed.
While it’s difficult to argue that his star has faded in recent years, the powerful midfielder still looks to be a step above the rigors of Championship game and could’ve easily negotiated a move abroad.
Interestingly, Ndidi himself always knew he’d never leave the club once Maresca came, as he recently revealed on BBC Radio Leicester’s ‘When You’re Smiling’ Podcast.
Ndidi said, “To be honest, no,” when asked if he felt he would go on.
“Because when he (Maresca) arrived, he tried to explain his philosophy as well as the simplicity of the game, and I just feel like it’s something I can learn from.”
“I’ve been willing to learn more about his philosophy and game style, and it’s been going well.” I’m glad to be here.
“There was never a time when I wanted to go. I used to watch the news and simply giggle.
Fulham are interested in Kieran Dewsbury-Hall, according to prospective transfer clauses.
Meanwhile, Fulham are interested in Leicester midfielder Dewsbury-Hall.
According to talkSPORT, the Cottagers’ interest in and ability to sign the Englishman is ultimately dependent on Leicester’s ability to sustain their current promotion drive.
You get the impression that if Leicester falters with Dewsbury-Hall, they’ll be in big danger, since he’s been a class act so far and looks every bit the man who should be in the Premier League at this juncture.
Following the departure of creative kingpin James Maddison, the former Luton Town loanee has occupied a more advanced role, and he’s ensured that the Spurs playmaker hasn’t been missed too much by scoring an opening-day brace in the M69 derby victory over Coventry City while providing numerous assists for his teammates.
