Nottingham Forest have now sent scouts to watch Palmeiras star Giovani ahead of a possible summer transfer. The Reds have had their eye on the 19-year-old wonderkid for quite some time.

Now, Nosso Palmeiras claim that the Reds have cranked up their interest. It’s suggested that scouts have been in attendance at recent fixtures with Forest wanting to sign him during the window.

It’s not going to be a cheap deal should Forest want to prise Giovani away from his current club. The report suggests that it could take up to £40 million for any club to sign him this summer.

Furthermore, Forest aren’t the only club who have been in attendance at recent Palmeiras games. Ajax, Barcelona and Manchester United are named in the piece, with competition rife.

Giovani is one of the brightest talents in Brazilian football. As a result, the next step looks like being in Europe, with Forest and other clubs firmly in the mix to sign him.

Forest will go in search of some more attacking quality this summer. Taiwo Awoniyi top scored in all competitions with 11 goals last season and more depth is required in the final third. Giovani doesn’t have a great deal of experience in senior football. He’s made just 34 appearances for Palmeiras and perhaps that would make him one for the future should he be signed.

Forest have sent scouts to watch Giovani

This would be a quality signing for the future but given the money the club would have to fork out, it’s perhaps one that Forest will choose not to make.

A video made by Cabazaya on YouTube shows the quality that Giovani possesses. On that video he’s called ‘unreal’ and he won’t be short of suitors.

The Reds have enjoyed success with the Brazilian market. Danilo and Gustavo Scarpa were signed from Palmeiras, whilst Felipe and Renan Lodi were also in the team last season.

Giovani could be the next in a line of Brazilians to sign for the Reds. However, this deal could prove tricky to complete from a Forest perspective.
