Everton are in need of attacking reinforcements this summer after struggling for goals last season
Everton are believed to be one of a number of sides eyeing a move for Alfredo Morelos this summer.
The Colombian striker has spent the last six years at Rangers, where he has become a fan favourite, though it was last month confirmed he would not be extending his stay at the club upon the expiration of his contract.
Since signing for the Scottish giants in 2017, Morelos has scored 124 goals and registered 58 assists in 269 appearances in all competitions and helped bring the club’s long wait for top-flight glory to an end in 2021.
Where the 26-year-old ends up remains to be seen, though one thing is clear: he has no shortage of suitors.
An update on the future of Morelos from his native country has suggested Everton are among the sides interested in the attacker, with Sevilla, Cadiz, Fenerbahce and Nottingham Forest also said to be keen.
Sean Dyche’s side are in desperate need for attacking firepower after scoring only 34 times in the Premier League last season. Only Wolves (31) found the back of the net on fewer occasions, laying bare the Blues’ lack of goal threat for all to see.
Everton failed to see the best of Neal Maupay during his debut campaign at Goodison Park, meanwhile Dominic Calvert-Lewin was unavailable for much of 2022/23 due to repeated injury setbacks.
