Tottenham star Giovani Lo Celso could join Barcelona in a surprise move this summer according to the latest reports.

The Argentinian midfielder was deemed surplus to requirements by former Spurs manager Antonio Conte and subsequently spent the past 18 months on loan at Villarreal, where he left a lasting impression.

With the appointment of new manager Ange Postecoglou, Lo Celso might have a chance to impress and secure a place in the Tottenham squad.

But Lo Celso has reportedly decided that he does not want to stay at Spurs anymore.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona manager Xavi Hernandez ‘really likes’ the player.

Hernandez is reportedly targeting players with exceptional passing abilities to complement star striker Robert Lewandowski.

Lo Celso has emerged as a potential replacement for veteran midfielder Sergio Busquets, who is set to be departing the club.

Lo Celso’s former coach, Unai Emery, who is currently at Aston Villa, is also reportedly interested in reuniting with the midfielder.

Argentinian journalist Gaston Edul previously reported that Aston Villa are in talks with the player and could potentially make an offer for him.

A move to Villa Park would provide Lo Celso with an opportunity to reignite his career in the English top-flight under Emery’s guidance.

The midfielder had already impressed the Spanish coach during his loan spell at Villarreal.

With the transfer window now open , Tottenham are now expected to move quickly to get several deals sorted. And Giovani Lo Celso could be one of them as Daniel Levy would want to sell him to raise funds for the summer.
