The Eagles have announced five new delistees.
Following a nadir year, the West Coast has resumed its cull.

West Coast has confirmed the departures of five more players following its wooden spoon season, saying that none of Xavier O’Neill, Greg Clark, Connor West, Isiah Winder, or Sam Petrevski-Seton will be returning to the club in 2024.

The delisting of the undrafted group follows the Eagles’ decision to release defender Luke Foley earlier this week.

Foley and Thursday’s delisted will join club champions Shannon Hurn, Nic Naitanui, and Luke Sheuy in exiting the competition after the latter three elected to retire.

Following the latest list purges, just Alex Witherden and Jai Culley remain unsigned for the next season.

However, with Witherden finishing in the top ten of the West Coast’s best and fairest and the jungle drums indicating a contract for Culley is on the way, the erstwhile powerhouse looks to have concluded its on-field bloodletting.

Eagles GM Gavin Bell expressed gratitude to the team’s second wave of delistees in an official club statement.

“On behalf of the club I would like to thank each of the players for their contributions during their varying times at the club,” Bell told the media.

“They have each left an impression on the club and we wish them every success in their future endeavours.”

West Coast will now go to the trade table and the 2023 AFL Draft with selections 1, 19, 35, 38, 54, 57, and 75 in an attempt to speed up the club’s redevelopment.
