Rangers are on the hunt for a new manager, and one of the names being mentioned in regard to the role at Ibrox is Philippe Clement.
Philippe Clement is a very experienced manager who has worked at Genk, Club Brugge and AS Monaco among others.
As an assistant manager and first-team manager so far in his career, Clement has won seven major trophies.
Rangers have been linked with the 49-year-old former defender, who played in England with Coventry City in the late 1990s.
According to Het Laatste Nieuws, Clement has already held talks with Rangers over the vacant managerial role at Rangers.
The report in the Belgian news outlet claimed that the Belgian flew into Glasgow this week, but he could not reach an agreement with Rangers and went back.
Rangers reportedly remain interested in Clement, so the door is still open for both parties to agree on a deal.
I do not think that Rangers are going to appoint Philippe Clement as their new manager.
If the Rangers officials really wanted to get a deal done with Clement, then they would have done so this week or at least given more positive feedback to the Belgian.
If the former AS Monaco manager has gone back from Glasgow with the situation not looking particularly great, then I do not think that it is going to improve anytime soon.
According to Sky Sports, Yokohama F Marinos manager Kevin Muscat is among the candidates that Rangers are considering.
Former Chelsea and Everton manager Frank Lampard is reportedly out of the running.
