Philadelphia Flyers 2023-24 Projection: 3 Keys to the Season and Worst Case Scenario

Don’t put any money down on the Flyers winning the Stanley Cup this season.

According to KEVIN, a predictive learning model created by The Hockey News’ Rachel Doerrie, you probably won’t want to bet on the Philadelphia Flyers winning the Stanley Cup this season.

The Metropolitan Division rankings, according to KEVIN, are as follows:

Philadelphia Flyers

Last year: 31-38-13, seventh in the Metropolitan Division (missed playoffs)

Projected: Eighth in the Metropolitan Division (will miss playoffs)

Keys to the Season

1. Sean Couturier and Cam Atkinson return to pre-injury form: Part of the reason the Flyers were so dreadful last season was their lack of offensive firepower. Losing Couturier to a back injury and Atkinson to a neck injury for the entire campaign certainly didn’t do them any favors. Luckily, the two grizzled veterans are back in the saddle, and if they can produce at the same level they did prior to their respective injuries, the Flyers should get a massive boost.
