Wigan Warriors-bound Adam Keighran banned after Grand Final sin-bin

The center was shown a yellow card at Old Trafford.

Adam Keighran has been banned following the Super League Grand Final.

The Catalans Dragons center, who will be at Wigan Warriors next season, was sin-binned for a tip tackle on Kai Pearce-Paul in the first half at Old Trafford.

That challenge has also seen him charged, with Keighran receiving a one-match ban for a Grade C dangerous throw. Ultimately, that ban will be served in the pre-season, with trial games eligible for one match of an existing ban.

As a result, it is unlikely to disrupt his start to life at the DW Stadium, with players rarely playing in every pre-season game. He has also been fined £250 for a Grade B charge.

Keighran was the only player charged in the Grand Final, which will likely come as a relief to Shaun Wane more than anyone else.
The England head coach is likely to have healthy representation from the two clubs in his 24-man England squad and losing no players to suspension keeps his options open.
It’s unlikely that captain George Williams will feature after he was handed a two-match ban, on the grounds of a frivolous appeal, last week.
