Brother of Wests Tigers player Masei Tavui also charged with murder
The brother of a Wests Tigers junior player has also been charged with the alleged murder of Dejan ‘Danny’ Radulovic – a day after his younger sibling was arrested.
Eti Tavui, 21, on Thursday, blew kisses to his family and supporters as he appeared from jail via video link in Liverpool Local Court.
He was arrested at Liverpool Station on Wednesday and was charged with murder and failing to comply with a digital evidence access order direction.
Outside court, one of his supporters appeared to push a journalist as they exited the court.
The journalist responded, asking the man not to push him.
Mr Radulovic died after police were called to Donnelly Street in Balmain at 3:40pm on July 29, following reports of an assault.
Officers arrived to find Mr Radulovic with significant head and torso injuries.
Paramedics treated him to the scene before taking him to the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital where he later died, with an autopsy later revealing he had suffered gunshot wounds.
Radulovic was released from prison earlier this year after serving nine months behind bars for drug supply.
Police said they had received reports that Mr Radulovic was injured in an altercation with two men, who allegedly fled in a white jeep, which was later found burnt out at Five Dock.
On Tuesday, police charged Masei Tavui, 19, with the alleged murder of Mr Radulovic.
Masei Tavui has been a member of the Wests Tigers junior ranks for the past four years, playing for the club in junior competitions.
He was not contracted for 2024.
On Wednesday, his older brother Eti, 21, was also charged.
He did not apply for bail when he appeared in court on Thursday and is due to reappear in December.
