David Moyes’s West Ham United have now been linked with Leeds United defender Robin Koch.
According to Bild journalist Tobi Altschäffl on Twitter, West Ham United are competing with Eintracht Frankfurt for the signing of Leeds United defender Robin Koch in the summer transfer window.
The reporter has claimed that West Ham are discussing the potential signing of Koch as a possible replacement for Declan Rice.
England international midfielder Rice has been strongly linked with Arsenal.
Koch, who cost Leeds £11.5 million in transfer fees when they signed him, can operate as a central defender or as a defensive midfielder.
Altschäffl has added that Koch prefers a move to the Bundesliga to joining West Ham.
In our view, if West Ham United want to find a replacement for Declan Rice, then they should look at someone better than Robin Koch.
Yes, Koch is a very good player, but let us not forget that he was part of a Leeds team that were really poor last season and got relegated from the Premier League.
Moreover, the 26-year-old played mainly as a centre-back for Leeds last season.
West Ham need to replace Rice with a player who is a defensive/central midfielder by trade.
Someone like Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips, for example.
