The Pittsburgh Steelers could find themselves another cornerback early in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Joey Porter Jr. is developing into a possible building stone for the Pittsburgh Steelers, who are benefiting from selecting a cornerback early in the draft.
The Steelers could try to fill some of these deficiencies in the secondary this year in the first round of the NFL Draft.
In a mock draft published by Pro Football Focus, the Steelers were selected to choose Iowa cornerback Cooper DeJean
The secondary school for the Steelers is in dire need. Some contend that safety is the most pressing necessity, while others would suggest a cornerback. DeJean may start at any position, which is the nicest thing about selecting him in the draft. Being one of the class’s more naturally gifted athletes, he possesses the stature (6-foot-1 and 207 pounds), quickness, and general covering instincts to be effective at both positions. Over the previous two years, he has had six forced incompletions, five interceptions, and an excellent coverage grade.
Given that they already spent a lot of money on a cornerback, the Steelers could want to address other issues, but DeJean could be a huge asset to Pittsburgh’s secondary.
DeJean is playing for one of the teams this year and has 41 tackles and two interceptions.
