The Steelers elevate a linebacker’s safety

The Steelers have elevated linebacker Tariq Carpenter and safety Trenton Thompson from the practice squad to the active/inactive roster.

Carpenter spent the previous season with the Green Bay Packers before being signed to Pittsburgh’s practice squad before the first week of the regular season. In the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft, he was selected.

Thompson joined the practice squad at the start of the regular season and has been with the Steelers since training camp. After being signed as an undrafted free agent, he played with the New York Giants for the whole previous season.
