Orioles Sign Former Royals Reliever to One-Year Contract

The Baltimore Orioles have a new potential piece for their bullpen in Tucker Davidson.

The Baltimore Orioles have signed pitcher Tucker Davidson for the 2024 season, the team announced on Friday.

It is a one-year contract. The terms were not disclosed. Davidson is a pre-arbitration player. Last season, he made $740,000, which was the minimum MLB salary.

Davidson gives the Orioles depth in their pitching staff, though he is out of options, so he will have to remain on the club or else expose him to waivers.

Davidson, a 27-year-old left-hander, has been in the Majors since 2020, when he broke in with Atlanta, but he spent last season with the Los Angeles Angels and the Kansas City Royals. Working out of the bullpen, he had a 1-2 record with a 5.96 ERA in 51.2 innings and 38 appearances.

The Royals traded for Davidson at the deadline in August, handing over cash to the Angels. The Royals waived him a few weeks ago and the Orioles picked him up.
