Ex-NRL prop makes next decision on rugby league career
After playing for the Parramatta Eels, North Queensland Cowboys, and Manly Sea Eagles, former NRL prop Kelepi Tanginoa has decided to move on with his rugby league career.
It has been reported that Tanginoa will sign a three-year deal with Hull Kingston Rovers of the English Super League, which would keep him there through the conclusion of the 2026 campaign.
The forward, who played in New South Wales throughout his junior career, was 19 when he earned a contract with the Parramatta Eels. After making his debut in Round 2 of the 2013 season against the Bulldogs, he would go on to play in 13 games for the club.
But in 2015, he would relocate to play for the North Queensland Cowboys in a different state.
“The advancements being made at Hull KR are among the reasons I consented to visit. The team has great goals for the future and accomplished some incredible things this year. I want to be a part of it, to do that next year and for years to come.
“I’m prepared to work hard and merit my position. I’ll be demonstrating to the players, the team, and the supporters that my goal is to work hard and give it my all.”
Willie Peters, the new head coach of Tanginoa, expressed his excitement at having him join the team for the 2024 Super League season in a speech upon his arrival.
“Having Kelepi (Tanginoa) on board makes me very delighted. I collaborated with Kelepi.
