Alabama’s Deontae Lawson and Jaylen Key inch closer to returning from injuries
With Alabama football playing Auburn on Saturday, two of the team’s defensive starters are getting closer to making a comeback. Head coach Nick Saban reports that Jaylen Key and Deontae Lawson are back on the field.
On Wednesday, Saban stated, “They both practiced quite a bit this week.” “Observe how they proceed going forward.”
Both Key and Lawson missed UA’s victory over Kentucky on Saturday as well as their game against Chattanooga. They were all hurt when they played LSU.
Against the Tigers, Lawson, the Crimson Tide’s starting inside linebacker, injured his ankle. He did not wear a uniform during the Mocs victory on Saturday.
The starting safety for Alabama, Key, was outfitted for the game but did not take part in the full warm-up or play in the match. During the LSU game, he hurt his thigh, breaking up a pass.
Jordan-Hare Stadium in Auburn is the site of Saturday’s 2:30 p.m. kickoff between Alabama and Auburn. CBS will broadcast the game.
These matches, in addition to the Iron Bowl, may affect Alabama’s chances of making the CFB this week.
On “Hey Coach,” Saban discusses Thanksgiving, the Iron Bowl, and player smack talk.
