Daikos recently returned to Europe from a rejuvenating overseas adventure, joining up with the likes of his former Collingwood teammate Taylor Adams, among others.
The star winger was asked about Adams leaving Olympic Park this off-season and said it would be “very disappointing” to see the veteran leave for the Sydney Swans.
However, he insisted that from the Magpie family’s point of view there was no bad blood.
“He (Adams) was a great teammate and we’re very sad to see him go, but we understand that things like this happen in football and we wish him the best,” Daikos said.

The very best of Taylor Adams

During his time abroad, Daicos enjoyed an eye-opening experience with Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur, before returning home ready to defend the Pies’ flag in 2024.
“I think there’s a lot to take away from the players, just their professionalism and the way they train the attack,” Daikos said, recalling the Spurs tour.
However, after returning to Australia, Daikos made sarcastic comments during a private lunch about the treatment of AFL players (compared to the international football players he was watching).
In the days that followed, he came under intense scrutiny.

“It was really disappointing that the joke I said (during lunch) was taken out of context.
Maybe I should have read the room better and people who know me should.

I know how grateful I am to be in this position.
” “It’s sad to see the story change.
” Dycos and the reigning premiership Magpies return to their home base on Monday to begin full pre-season training.
