Michigan‘s huge game against Ohio State was briefly halted on Saturday after a nasty injury to Wolverines offensive linesman Zak Zinter.
Broadcaster FOX refused to show replays of the gruesome incident, which left Zinter requiring a cart to leave the pitch.
Zinter was blocking a defensive rival when another Ohio State player fell forcefully onto his bent leg.
His parents raced down to the pitch to see their son, while Michigan players left the sidelines and walked on to the field to support their teammate.
Zinter was able to sit up on a stretcher after being given urgent medical attention and he was given a standing ovation by Michigan fans as he was carted off.
Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy was pictured giving Zinter’s parents a hug after their son was carted off the field.
Zinter could have gone to the NFL draft last year but instead returned to play for the Wolverines in an attempt to win a national championship with Jim Harbaugh.
On the next player, Blake Corum scored a touchdown in emotional scenes as the Wolverines powered to a 30-24 win.
With Harbaugh still suspended and a scandal hanging over their heads, McCarthy and No. 3 Michigan ran the school’s win streak against the Buckeyes to three games in maybe the most consequential game in the history of the rivalry.
Michigan’s Rod Moore intercepted Kyle McCord’s pass intended for Marvin Harrison Jr. at the Wolverines’ 21-yard line with 25 seconds left, setting off a wild celebration on the home team’s sideline.
McCarthy took a knee, Michigan fans poured over the brick walls of The Big House and onto the field and the Wolverines were off to their third straight Big Ten title game.
In a season of high expectations that now has a championship-or-bust feel, Michigan is a victory away from a third consecutive College Football Playoff appearance.

Corum finished with 88 rushing yards for Michigan, which plays Iowa in the Big Ten championship game in Indianapolis next Saturday.
James Turner padded the lead to 27-17 on a 38-yard field goal with 11:57 left in the fourth quarter.
Harrison Jr.’s 14-yard TD at the 8:05 mark of the fourth pulled the Buckeyes to within 27-24.
Turner added a 37-yarder to cap the scoring. The Buckeyes reached the Michigan 40 before McCord was intercepted by Moore.
