Ingram was released by the Cardinals on November 28th.
He will join reserve running backs La’Mical Perine and Denerick Prince on the practice squad as the Chiefs strengthen their strength at the position.

“He’s a coveted running back prospect with the right size and speed,” NFL Network expert Lance Zierlein said before the draft.
“After transferring from Texas to USC, Ingram became much faster and easier to catch at his lighter weight,” the scout continued.
“He sees inside clearly, but is sometimes too content with bouncing runs wide instead of continuing to look between the tackles.
” Perhaps the best Zierlein highlighted in 2022.
Qualities were Ingram’s ability to “generate further additions through quick decision-making at times”.

However, Zierlein added that there are “no really standout qualities” that Ingram exhibits.
It will be interesting to see if his NFL experience ultimately gives him an advantage over Prince.
Keentay Ingram could be the next running back for the Chiefs if an injury occurs.
I mentioned that Ingram and Prince could compete for playing time in the next man-up scenario.
That’s because Perine hasn’t trained to be added to the roster for the 2023 season.
That means if the Chiefs want to dress Perine again during the regular season, they’ll have to sign him to the 53-man roster, which may be something they’re reluctant to do.
Instead, Ingram or Prince could be promoted if new injuries occur.
The person to watch right now in this regard is veteran running back Jerick McKinnon.
McKinnon suffered from his groin issue and missed Week 12.
He returned to training on a limited basis on November 30th, but his health will certainly be something to keep an eye on as the season progresses.
Clyde Edwards-Helaire also missed part of 2023 due to illness.
Neither substitute has a clean injury history, so this deal provides an extra insurance policy in case one or two more nasty losses occur.
It may take Ingram at least a few weeks to get used to the complex KC offense, but the Chiefs still have three carries they can spend on Prince if needed.
For now, Kansas City’s top three ball carriers should be ready for Week 13 against the Green Bay Packers.

The current spread is -6 in favor of KC (via FanDuel Sportsbook).
This will be the first time Kansas City will play at Lambeau Field since 2015.
