Miami Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill Thanks, Washington Commanders for ‘Not Respecting Me’

Miami Dolphins receiver Tyreek Hill felt disrespected Sunday when the Washington Commanders failed to put safety help over top of his routes, and he thanked them with two touchdowns in the first half.

LANDOVER, Md. The Washington Commanders (4-9) have a lot of problems these days without adding Miami Dolphins (9-3) receiver Tyreek Hill to the list following a 45-15 loss in Week 13.

But after the Commanders gave up most of the 157 receiving yards Hill racked up and both touchdowns he scored in the first half, the Dolphins star says the defense’s disrespect for him helped him do the damage he did.

“Those guys are great at what they do and they also get paid,” Hill said after the game when he was asked if he was surprised about the absence of safety help from the Washington defense. “But at some point, it’s like man. I don’t know, man; I just appreciate it, you know. Thanks for, you know, not respecting me, I guess.”

Adding insult to injury won’t add another loss to coach Ron Rivera’s ledger, but the problems that plagued his defense all year surfaced early this weekend.

To make matters worse, it came in a game Hill didn’t even expect to have this big an impact in.

“I came into the stadium worried about how I felt because I didn’t practice throughout this whole week,” Hill said. “So it was like one of those that I was worried about just how I was going to be able to perform because every team is good in the NFL.”
