Texas Longhorns Lose Another Wide Receiver To The Transfer Portal

In anticipation of their College Football Playoff matchup against the Washington Huskies, the Texas Longhorns are hard at work. They also handle player departures through the transfer portal. Today, Isaiah Neyor, a wide receiver, announced he was entering the transfer portal, meaning Texas lost another one.

Despite ranking in the top ten players on the transfer portal the previous year, Neyor was unable to play in Texas. He was one of the more intriguing targets last season after finishing with 878 yards and 12 touchdowns at Wyoming. He had just one 14-yard catch in 2023.

Neyor didn’t spend much time on the field because of the abundance of talent the Longhorns have at their disposal. Now, he’ll try searching the portal for this year for another opportunity.

Neyor is the seventh Longhorn to enter the portal as of the time this article was written. Texas shouldn’t be overly concerned, despite the fact that this may worry some people. The majority of the players were absent from the field in 2023. Additionally, Texas needs to be actively seeking out talent through the portal in order to help them replenish their talent pool. Given the team’s upcoming big games, it makes sense that there haven’t been any significant pieces to move.

Will 2024 see the Texas Longhorns maintain this level of success? Although the team appears to be headed in the right direction, the transition to the SEC will not be easy.
