Bengals QB Jake Browning Issues New Warning To NFL After Week 14

Jake Browning and the Cincinnati Bengals went into Week 14 NFL action with a major need for a big win over the Indianapolis Colts. With the playoff race heating up in the AFC and a lot of teams battling for the last couple of spots, the Bengals knew the Colts were just above them in the standings. After a tough first half, Cincinnati was able to pull away to end up beating Indianapolis by a final score of 34-14.

Just a few short weeks ago, when Joe Burrow went down with a season-ending injury, everyone went ahead and wrote off the Bengals as a potential playoff contender. Browning has completely turned things around since the injury occurred.

In the five total games that Browning has played this season, he has completed 75.5 percent of his pass attempts for 924 yards, five touchdowns, and two interceptions. He also has 77 yards and two touchdowns on the ground.

Bengals QB Jake Brown Issues New Warning To The NFL

Following their big win over the Colts, Browning did not hold back from making a blunt two-word warning to the rest of the NFL. His warning was in response to a question about whether or not the Bengals are a playoff team this year.

The Bengals are back in the playoff picture following back-to-back AFC wins.

“Damn Right”—Jake  Browning’s response when asked if this is a playoff team.

On the outside, looking in, the Bengals always seemed much better than their record indicated. However, when Burrow went down, it was understandable to write them off.

Browning has not only led Cincinnati back into the playoff race; he has also shown that he has legitimate franchise quarterback potential. The team has not missed a beat and has actually gotten better since he took over from Burrow. That is not a slight to Burrow, but more of a credit to Browning.

Moving forward, the Bengals will have to continue their solid play in order to make their way into the playoffs. They have a few very tough games remaining on their schedule. Next week, they will take on the Vikings at home, then they will face the Steelers in Pittsburgh, the Chiefs in Kansas City, and close out the season against the Browns at home.

If they continue playing like they have for the last two weeks, the Bengals have a good shot at punching a ticket to the postseason. Only time will tell, but they’re playing well and are confident, as they should be.
