Ohio State QB Kyle McCord to Visit Nebraska This Week

A five-star former Buckeye could sign with the Huskers.

The song “Look Who’s Coming to Town” by Santa Claus is about to arrive.

You should aim for the sky and keep an eye out.
I’ll tell you why, we’re all going to yell.
We have Kyle McCord visiting us.

He is delivering a list to Matt Rhule.
He may decide to transfer to our school.
We have Kyle McCord visiting us!

He was a Buckeye once.
However, he will now dream.
We’re hoping he can make it here soon to represent the Scarlet and Cream.

We believe he is the one.
Let’s lead the way for him.
We want him to stay, so just aim for the stars.
We have Kyle McCord visiting us!

(Dan McGlynn’s lyrics, sigh…)

Millions of people are anxiously awaiting the arrival of a very popular visitor from the north. Of course that would be Santa Claus.

But Husker fans are waiting for a different kind of visitor from the north – former Ohio State QB Kyle McCord. Many think he could be the key to returning the Husker football program to national prominence.

Accompanying him will be one of his teammates, WR Julian Fleming. Since Nebraska is in dire need of a competent QB and is looking to add an experienced receiver to the Huskers’ 2024 commit list, it would seem the pair would be a perfect fit for Nebraska.

Here’s what you need to know about Kyle McCord:

1,) He has one year of eligibility remaining.

2.) In his only year (’23) as the Buckeye starter, he went 11-1. His only loss was to Michigan in OSU’s last regular-season game.

3.) He was a five-star QB in the ’21 recruiting class.

4.) He was also the 24th best recruit and the 3rd best QB that year.

5.) His hometown is Mt. Laurel, NJ, but he played high school football across the Delaware River in Philadelphia.

6.) He was a high school teammate of Marvin Harrison Jr., who finished fourth in this year’s Heisman voting.
