Another week, another Jimmy Graham touchdown.
The 37-year-old tight end hauled in his third touchdown in as many weeks, catching a 1-yard score from Derek Carr in the fourth quarter that put the New Orleans Saints ahead of the New York Giants 24-6.
That was Graham’s fourth touchdown reception of the year, and it was also only his sixth catch of the season, which put him in some pretty rare company.
The last time an NFL player hauled in at least four touchdowns on six or fewer catches in a season was in 1984, when Ed West caught four touchdowns on six overall receptions.
The only other player to accomplish the feat since the NFL and AFL merged in 1970 was former Chicago Bears receiver Jim Seymour.
Graham’s resurgence has helped turn around the Saints’ red zone woes. During his three-game touchdown streak, the Saints have converted nine of their 10 red zone opportunities.
