The Cowboys have linebacker Leighton Vander Esch and cornerback/special teams ace C.J.
Goodwin sustained injuries to his neck and chest and was officially placed on injured reserve.
The Cowboys placed cornerback Nahshon Wright on injured reserve and added defensive end Tyrus Wheat to the active roster, filling two open spots on the roster.
Wright, who will debut Monday night, has been on injured reserve since the beginning of the season after injuring his ankle during the preseason.
He returned to practice on Thursday and officially became active on Monday.
Wheat, a rookie who went undrafted as a free agent after April’s NFL Draft, made his NFL debut Monday night and will add depth to a linebacker room forced by injuries.

During practice the week before the Chargers’ game, Wheat ran position drills with the linebackers.
While at Mississippi State, Wheat played over 700 snaps as an off-ball linebacker in the SEC.
The Cowboys have removed running back Malik Davis and linebacker Malik Jefferson from their practice squad for Monday night’s game against the Chargers.

This is Davis’ first promotion of the season and Jefferson’s third.
Practice squad players are only allowed three promotions in a full season before being added to the active roster to play in another game.
Earlier this week, the Cowboys signed former first-round pick Rashaan Evans to their practice squad, but he will have to wait until at least Week 7 or later to make his debut with the team.
The Cowboys will play the Chargers on Monday night at SoFi Stadium.
Kickoff is scheduled for 7:44:44 p.m.
