Ohio State Buckeye players enter transfer portal, including QB McCord Written by Madison McArthur Columbus Published December 4, 2023, at 8:444 am ET Columbus, Ohio Ohio State quarterback Kyle McCord entered the transfer portal early Monday morning, joining several other Buckeye players who entered with him.
Other players who entered the transfer portal on Monday were safeties Cameron Martinez and Kai Stokes and cornerback Ryan Turner.
McCord completed 65.
8 percent of his passes while passing for 3,170 yards, 24 touchdowns, and six interceptions.
McCord eclipsed 300 yards three times but had two interceptions twice, including in the regular season finale, a 30-24 loss to Michigan.
Now that the Buckeyes’ starting quarterback has entered the transfer portal, they need to find a signal caller on the Goodyear Cotton Bowl roster.
Two other players have thrown passes for the Buckeyes this year: sophomore Devin Brown and freshman Lincoln Kienholtz, according to ESPN.
Early indications are that Brown could be the starter against Missouri, but head coach Ryan Day has not named a starter.
