Cowboys Reach 6-Year, $108 Million Deal With Quarterback Tony Romo

The Dallas Cowboys have signed quarterback Tony Romo to a six-year contract worth $108 million.
The team’s website states that no contract has been signed, but the terms agreed to state that $55 million of that amount is guaranteed.
Dallas Cowboys.com reports: “The deal will pay Romo more than $17 million per season, putting him just outside the top five of the highest-paid quarterbacks in the league.
Get in.
Super Bowl MVP Joe Flacco recently received only $52 million in guaranteed money, much to the displeasure of six-time Pro Bowler and NFL Network analyst Donovan McNabb.
Tweeted: “It’s amazing to win in the playoffs.
” You’ve got to be kidding me.

” Sponsored Message ESPN notes that the deal makes Romo the highest-paid player in franchise history.
And to be fair, the network reports that Romo is one of the team’s most successful players despite not appearing in the playoffs.
ESPN added: “Romo, who turns 33 in April, leads the Cowboys in touchdown passes with 174 and holds franchise single-season records for passing yards and touchdowns.
However, he did not have the postseason success of Cowboys legends Roger Staubach and Troy Aikman.

“Despite his lack of playoff success, Romo has still proven to be an excellent player in a quarterback-starved league.
Since becoming the Cowboys’ starter in 2006, Romo has had one playoff win.
The Cowboys have missed the playoffs in four of the last five seasons, losing either the playoffs or home games to the New York Giants and Washington Redskins in the last two seasons.
Defeated.
