new name is on Nebraska’s radar in its quest to add an experienced receiver from the transfer portal.
Former Texas wideout Isaiah Neyor will officially visit the Huskers this weekend, according to reports from multiple recruiting sites. The 6-foot-3, 215-pounder broke out as an All-Mountain West performer with Wyoming in 2021 before spending the last two seasons recovering from a torn ACL.
Neyor, once a 2019 two-star prospect from Arlington (Texas) Lamar High School, earned his reputation as a big-play threat while with the Cowboys. He averaged 31 yards per catch as a redshirt freshman (eight grabs for 248 yards) before leading his team in receptions (44), receiving yards (878) and touchdown catches (12) the following season.
Neyor transferred out of the run-heavy offense that December and, after a brief pledge to Tennessee as a hot portal commodity, landed with Texas. He wowed his new team that spring, highlighted by a 63-yard scoring catch in the Longhorn spring game.

“You see the playmaking ability,” Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian said then. “He’s a real weapon on deep balls, and in the red area he’s a big physical guy.”
But a knee injury during fall camp shelved Neyor for the year. The timing made his return difficult this fall for the Big 12 champions as he settled into a co-backup role amid a stacked position group. He saw eight snaps in the opener against Rice, including a catch for 14 yards and didn’t get on the field again.
Neyor has at least one year of eligibility remaining—two if he receives an NCAA medical waiver for either of his previous two campaigns. Classes at Nebraska begin Jan. 22, roughly a week after players are set to report back to campus.
Nebraska remains intent on adding a veteran wideout to a position group with no one who has either been healthy or an established college contributor for more than a single season. It hosted Ohio State transfer Julian Fleming for a visit last month, though Fleming appears to be a Penn State lean. Former Wake Forest receiver Jahmal Banks last week indicated a trip to Nebraska was potentially in the works.
The Huskers are continuing to target running backs — Oregon transfer Dante Dowdell is visiting Lincoln this weekend. They’ve added just one transfer this offseason in defensive back Blye Hill after bringing in double-digit newcomers the previous two cycles.
