Justin Edwards Signs NIL Deal for Nearly $150 m Truck
If you visualize the stereotypical college student, they have a stash of ramen noodles in their dorm room and drive a 10-year-old car. However, that is not the case for today’s top student-athletes.
Today, in the world of NIL, the top players at Power Five programs are often making six figures and driving around in brand-new vehicles. As is the case for several of Kentucky’s freshmen. Notably, DJ Wagner and Kareem Watkins signed a NIL deal this spring with Lex Exotics, a private car company based in Lexington, and will be allowed to drive exotic and classic cars this season.
Justin Edwards is the latest to ink a NIL deal, as on Thursday he announced a deal with Paul Miller Ford in Lexington, receiving a high-horsepower Ford F-150 Raptor, which has an MSRP of $76,775.
Similar to past NIL deals involving vehicles, this is likely just a lease for the season, but Edwards will still be driving around campus in style.
