Leeds United midfielder Marc Roca is set to leave the club on loan for Real Betis in the coming days or weeks, with his time at Leeds seemingly coming to an end.
It’s been 12 months since the Leeds squad was overhauled under Jesse Marsch, but relegation from the Premier League is likely to take a hammer to the squad once again.
A host of the American’s signings are unlikely to be at the club for next season’s hopeful Championship promotion bid.
Marc Roca to leave?
It has been reported frequently during June that Spanish midfielder Marc Roca is set to leave the club, with Europa League side Real Betis aiming to sign him,
Estadio Deportivo are one of multiple outlets reporting of a deal closing in for Roca to initially join Manuel Pellegrini’s side on a loan deal, with an option-to-buy included in the deal.
El Diario Deportes are now claiming that the midfielder is “ready” to leave Elland Road for Betis this summer.
Plenty has to happen in order for the transfer to have a clear run, with Roca coming in only after replacing exit-bound William Carvalho, who looks set to join compatriot Cristiano Ronaldo at Al Nassr.
The report explains:
“As for the midfielder, the conversations with Leeds, his current club, are very well on track and it only remains to be known if the loan sought by the Heliopolitan team would include, or not, a purchase option; from there, it is almost certain that he will be part of the green-and-white squad in the 23-24.”
