Atlanta Braves Make Interesting Decision with New Roster Addition
The Atlanta Braves have now signed veteran left-hander Chris Sale to a two-year contract extension with an option for the 2026 season. The question is, why?
The Atlanta Braves made an interesting move on Thursday, announcing that they have given new left-handed pitcher Chris Sale a two-year contract extension with an option for the 2026 season.
Sale was acquired via trade from the Boston Red Sox last week. He had been slated to make $27.5 million this year, $17 million of which was being paid by the Red Sox. He also had a club option for 2025. This new deal gives the Braves an additional year of team control through the 2026 option.
