Former Super Bowl champion is helping UNC football star prepare for NFL Draft
Former NFL legend Drake Maye of UNC is getting some advice from him as he moves through the pre-draft process.
It may be quite difficult to navigate the NFL Draft process because collegiate athletes hoping to compete at the top level of sports frequently seek advice in the months preceding draft day.
The UNC football star, Drake Maye, is expected to be selected in the top five of this year’s draft class, and he has been working with a former quarterback with an impressive background.
Eli Manning, a two-time Super Bowl champion and former New York Giant, has reportedly been helping Maye prepare for the NFL Draft, according to the New York Post. After participating in a LIV Golf pro-am in Las Vegas, Maye went to an event on Wednesday with Manning in a partnership with Phil Mickelson and Will Levis.
What Maye had to say about his interactions with Manning was as follows:
Eli and I have been collaborating throughout the process as we chat football and hop on Zooms. Dave Morris, who was his backup quarterback in college, is helping me prepare for the draft while I work out in Mobile, Alabama. A little world, comparatively. Additionally, I saw Eli and Peyton this summer while attending the Manning Camp.
With three members of the Manning family with extensive NFL experience—Eli, Peyton, and Archie—the family has quite the heritage. Eli, the youngest player in the group, is perhaps most proud of his accomplishment because he is the only quarterback to defeat Tom Brady in the Super Bowl—a feat he accomplished twice! Brady is widely regarded as the “G.O.A.T” of the game.
Maye is making excellent use of the resources at his disposal and setting himself up for success in the upcoming months, which is something to be proud of. It’s important to prepare, and it appears that Maye is off to a terrific start as he gets ready for the start of his NFL career.
