Ryan Reynolds sends message as Wrexham match halted for 10 minutes after David Worrall injury

The game was stopped for 10 minutes so visiting player David Worrall could receive treatment

Wrexham’s clash with Barrow was stopped for 10 minutes on Saturday afternoon following a head injury to visiting player David Worrall.

The two sides met at the Racecourse ground with both teams in good form but after the 11th minute the game was halted after Worrall was involved in a nasty clash of heads.

Medics made their way onto the field to treat the player. He received treatment for 10 minutes before he was stretchered off the field to be replaced by Luca Stephenson. Wrexham’s co-owner Ryan Reynolds quickly sent his best wishes to Worrall, tweeting: “Hoping David Worrall is okay,” accompanied by two praying emojis.

At that point in the match Barrow were leading after Kian Spence had put the away team ahead after just 33 seconds on the clock. Play got back under way after the 21-minute mark following the pause to treat Worrall.

The Reds then hit back in ruthless fashion, scoring three times through Steven Fletcher (twice) and Paul Mullin.

A win would move the north Wales club into second spot in League Two
