MELBOURNE VICTORY RE-SIGNS JASON GERIA

Jason Geria, a defender for Melbourne Victory, has signed a new contract with the team for the 2022–2023 Isuzu UTE A-League season.

The 29-year-old, who made 29 appearances in all competitions last season and cemented his status as one of the league’s top full-backs, has agreed to extend his contract through the conclusion of the 2023–2024 campaign.

Geria’s outstanding play in the 2021–2022 season, according to Melbourne Victory Director of Football John Didulica, was a key component of the team’s strong defensive performance.

Didulica stated, “We’re thrilled to have Jason back for the upcoming two seasons and think he will continue to be one of the A-League’s top defenders.”

Jason was instrumental in creating our menacing defense last season, which we hope to carry over into this one. His performances set a high and steady standard for the whole campaign.

Geria was excited to stay at Victory for as long as possible.

“I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to commit to the Club for an additional two seasons and perform in front of the Victory supporters at AAMI Park once more,” Geria stated.

“I have no doubt that playing for Melbourne Victory brings out the best in me as a player, and I’m excited to build on our success from last season.”

Geria is the Club’s fifth re-signing of the 2022/23 pre-season, joining Rai Marchan, Will Wilson, Leigh Broxham and Matt Spiranovic as well as new signings, George Timotheou and Noah Smith.
