Bobby Brown, a defensive lineman for the Los Angeles Rams, has been suspended six games for violating NFL policy regarding performance-enhancing substances
Los Angeles — The NFL has suspended Los Angeles Rams defensive lineman Bobby Brown without pay for the first six games of the 2022 season for violating the league’s performance-enhancing substance policy, the team announced on Monday.
Brown, 21, will be eligible to return to the active roster on October 17, following the Rams’ Week 6 game, with his first opportunity to play coming in Week 8 against the San Francisco 49ers. The Rams have a Week 7 bye.
Brown, a 2021 fourth-round pick from Texas A&M, appeared in 10 games as a rookie but only played 22 defensive snaps.
After the departure of free agent Sebastian Joseph-Day, Brown
was expected to play a larger role for the defending Super Bowl champions’ defensive line, which returns three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year Aaron Donald, Greg Gaines, and A’Shawn Robinson.
Brown will be able to participate in training camp practices and preseason games.
The Rams kick off the season on September 8 against the Buffalo Bills at SoFi Stadium.
