LSU finalized contracts with Corey Raymond, new defensive coaches. Here are the details.

The contract information for safety coach Jake Olsen, edge rushers coach Kevin Peoples, and secondary coach Corey Raymond is now available. LSU completed hiring its new defensive staff on Thursday.

The Advocate was able to obtain copies of the contracts for the three coaches, and they differ in terms of length and remuneration. The agreements are subject to clearance by the LSU board of supervisors, which will convene again on February 23, and background checks.

Raymond signed a two-year deal with a team option for 2026 after returning to LSU. In November of last year, he was sacked by Florida as part of a staff reorganization; nonetheless, he was paid $200,000 by LSU for his first season, a number that was offset by his buyout.

Raymond will then earn $725,000 year, which is the same as his stated pay from the Gators. In 2026, LSU will have the choice to retain Raymond as an employee. Only he has an option year left on his contract as a coach.

Raymond previously coached defensive backs at LSU from 2012-21. He made $600,000 his last season, though he and other coaches accepted a 5% reduction that year because of the financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Raymond was one of the many staff members not retained by Brian Kelly at the time. He spent the next two years at Florida.

Peoples last Friday inked a $2.1 million, three-year contract. His annual compensation will increase significantly from his prior $700,000 to $700,000. Peoples’ contract as Missouri’s edge rushers coach paid him $400,000 a year for the previous two years. Additionally, LSU paid his $500,000 buyout.
