Sky Sport Italia suggest Chelsea will make a call to Napoli next week for €150m-rated Victor Osimhen, with Tottenham also potentially joining Manchester United and PSG in the race.
The striker’s agent met with President Aurelio De Laurentiis to discuss a potential contract extension and to set the price-tag that would make them consider sitting down with another club.
It is believed to be at an absolute minimum of €150m, so anything less than that won’t even be worth talking about.
This evening, Sky Sport Italia pundit Massimo Marianella claimed that Chelsea are not scared off by the asking price and will make a call to Napoli next week to get a clearer idea of the situation.
They aren’t the only ones, as Paris Saint-Germain could go for Osimhen if Kylian Mbappé moves on to Real Madrid this summer, while Manchester United have long been interested.
A new contender would be Tottenham Hotspur, who risk losing Harry Kane in the transfer window and need a big replacement.

Liverpool should accept Tottenham transfer reversal as perfect Virgil van Dijk heir emerges
Liverpool and Tottenham could swap ‘transfer targets’ with the Reds linked to a player who could be the perfect future Virgil van Dijk’s heir at Anfield.
Despite the fast start with the arrival of Alexis Mac Allister, it’s been a little bit slow-paced at Liverpool over the last couple of weeks. Even transfer rumors have somewhat ground to a halt. But it may be starting to pick up again with Liverpool being linked to a Tottenham ‘target’ who could help solve the Virgil van Dijk ‘question’ at the club.
It’s clear Liverpool has made signing a left-sided center-back to cover and even push Virgil van Dijk in the starting XI a priority this summer. There is a shortage in that area and Liverpool simply has to address it.
The main candidate touted for the role has so far been Micky van de Ven who is at Wolfsburg and who was spotted by Liverpool’s current sporting director, Jörg Schmadtke, for the German side last summer.
Van de Ven, though, now appears to also be on Tottenham’s radar, as per Fabrizio Romano, which could instigate a transfer switch between the two sides that could suit Liverpool perfectly.
While Tottenham has started to pursue Van de Ven, 90min has reported that Liverpool has registered an interest in Spurs target Edmond Tapsoba, who might just be the better fit at Anfield.
With more experience at senior level than Van de Ven, Tapsoba is far from a veteran in the game and is only two years older than the Dutch defender at 24 years old.
With over 100 appearances for Bayer Leverkusen and experience playing in the Liga NOS as well, Tapsoba would come with a lot bigger pedigree.
And arguably, he is better suited for Liverpool as well. Tall and springy at 1.94 meters, he has the recovery speed to make him a nightmare for any offensive opponent. Tapsoba reads the game well and like Van Dijk, he is also cool under pressure in one vs one situations.
Rarely beaten, this season in the Bundesliga, Tapsoba has won 75.5 per cent of his defensive duels, as per Wyscout, which is the best among center-backs in the league.
Even more impressively, he is someone who is deceptively comfortable on the ball for a player of his height. Pressure resistant and capable of playing the ball forward in possession with ease, Tapsoba ranks in the top five for forward passes per 90 minutes with an average of 25.47 among Bundesliga center-backs.
Meanwhile, he is also in the top 10 for progressive runs per 90 at 1.37 and he does have a tendency to roam forward with the ball and carry into dangerous areas.
Tapsoba would also be a better fit for Liverpool because of the fact that while he predominantly plays in a left-sided center-back role, he is also comfortable playing on the right.
For his country, Burkina Fason, in the past he has even previously played as a right-back on a few occasions. Meanwhile, under Xabi Alonso at Leverkusen last season, Tapsoba was used as a defensive midfielder against Union Berlin, where once again he did very well and never looked out of place.
This versatility is something that could make him a key figure in Jürgen Klopp’s Liverpool squad, and prove why the Reds should look to pursue him over Van de Ven, essentially allowing Tottenham to complete a ‘switch’ of targets.
