The starting forward for Syracuse basketball will search for a new college residence.
According to a source, Justin Taylor, the starting forward for Syracuse, is logging into the transfer site. On3 was the first to report the news. Taylor is still eligible for two more years. This past season, Taylor started every game for the Orange. In 23 minutes per game, he averaged 5.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 1.0 assists.
He was anticipated to be one of the players to help stretch opposing defenses to provide driving lanes for Syracuse

 

guards. He was a known great shooter coming out of high school, having shot 39% from three point range as a freshman. He has only shot 30% all season, though, and his last three-pointer came against Wake Forest on February 3.

Throughout the whole season, Taylor was forced to play power forward due to injuries that kept Maliq Brown from playing center and kept Benny Williams out of the starting lineup. Taylor began to doubt his outside shot as he tried to figure out that job.
But he would become more of a slasher who could finish near the rim, which would alter his role and help the offense. In the last three games of the regular season, he has scored ten or more goals.

During player introductions one game, Taylor was the target of jeers from the student section, which was another fan-related incident involving him. Taylor took things in stride, never making a public remark or complaint.
