With the start of spring practices looming, head coach Mack Brown spoke to the media regarding his team’s upcoming opportunity to take the field.

Of the seven players listed, six are offensive skill players, which isn’t very good news for the UNC football program.

Why? In case you haven’t been paying attention, Chapel Hill is currently hosting a quarterback competition. It would be beneficial for the main skill players to gain some experience working with both of the individuals vying for the position.

Once again, Blackwell and Jones were expected to be important wide receivers, and the UNC football program’s offense greatly benefits from the explosive duo of Copenhaver and Nesbit at tight end. They will be unable to participate in spring practices as they all seem to be suffering with injuries, but maybe they will be healthy enough to report to training camp.

If you’re looking for good news, it appears that wide receiver Kobe Paysour will be ready to go when spring practices begin. The injury bug got Paysour good during the 2023 season, as he was sidelined due to one foot injury and then suffered another upon his return to practice right before the Tar Heels’ bowl game.
