A week after cutting him, the Lions bring back veteran running back
The veteran running back Devine Ozigbo is being signed by the Detroit Lions for the second time in as many weeks.

Prior to their victory over the Las Vegas Raiders on October 30, the Lions had signed the 27-year-old to their active roster; however, he was released three days later. A week later, the Lions are bolstering a vital position with depth by once again adding Ozigbo to their practice squad.

Devine Ozigbo Returns
Ozigbo was cut last week so the Lions could add linebacker Trevor Nowaske to the active roster, as Jeff Risdon of USA Today’s Lions Wire reported.

Before being added to the active roster for the Raiders game, Ozigbo spent the first part of the season on Detroit’s practice squad and was later elevated twice. Ozigbo had three carries for five yards and one catch for eight yards in his three appearances overall.

Ozigbo played in the October 30 victory over the Raiders, both on offense and on special teams.

Lions Getting Well Enough to Run Back
On November 9, the injured David Montgomery participated fully in practice, suggesting that the Lions may be adding another significant backfield player. Montgomery reported last week that he was feeling better and was taking his time recovering.

The Detroit Free Press was informed last week by Montgomery that “we are just trying to take it one day at a time.” “In all honesty, we don’t

Now that Montgomery has had a week off to recuperate, the Lions will look to expand their division lead when they play the Los Angeles Chargers. The Lions have a 59% chance of winning the game according to heavy projections driven by the fourth quarter.

Now that Montgomery is well, the team may be developing fresh offensive strategies. Ben Johnson, the offensive coordinator for the Lions, made a suggestion that Montgomery and rookie running back Jahmyr Gibbs could be paired together in the backfield simultaneously.

“You kind of look through your roster, the guys that are available to you and you kind of – you might rank them,” Johnson said, according to Lions Wire. “It’s always a fun exercise to do and certainly do it at the end of the season, the bye week’s another good time to do it.” “These are our top 11 players that we really feel good about offensively,” you say. Normally, you want to get those 11 players on the field together as much as possible. I believe both of those

players are among our top 11 offensive players. Thus, there is a compelling case to get them both out there more frequently.
