Three reserves for Indiana basketball access the transfer website.
BLOOMINGTON: Tuesday afternoon, most of Indiana basketball’s bench came through the portal.
HBAgency
Multiple reports state that Payton Sparks, Kaleb Banks, and HBAgency CJ Gunn have all entered their names into the transfer portal.
College basketball’s NCAA portal period began on March 18 and ends on May 1.
After Xavier Johnson and Anthony Walker used up all of their eligibility, the Hoosiers were left with six open scholarship spots. Prior to the season, they only had one.
Out of the three, Lawrence North sophomore Gunn was the most productive. He played 12.8 minutes a game on average and finished with 3.9 points and 1.0 rebounds. With eight points and four steals off the bench, he was a major contributor to the team’s victory over Michigan in the first game of the season. He also contributed well to the team’s performance in a Jan. 6 victory over
Ohio State, scoring 10 points.Banks, a former four-star recruit from Georgia’s Fayette County High School, was used sparingly in the final months of the season, mostly filling in for Kel’el Ware and Malik Reneau when they were sidelined or hurt. Sparks, a Ball State transfer, is transferring for the second time in as many years, but he won’t have to worry about getting a waiver to gain immediate eligibility because the NCAA suspended the waiver process due to ongoing litigation that is being handled by the courts. The only returning players from Indiana who have made a public commitment to return for the following season are Sparks.are Anthony Leal and Trey Galloway, the guards. Following the team’s 65-64 victory over Michigan State in the regular season finale, they both made their plans known on Senior Day.
