OSU hires WKU’s Robert Guster to join Cowboys’ coaching staff

Among his first coaching staff members with the Cowboys will be a familiar face for new OSU men’s basketball coach Steve Lutz.

OSU announced on Thursday that Robert Guster, who worked under Lutz as an assistant at Western Kentucky the previous season, would be moving to Stillwater.

“Coach Guster is already well-versed in the Cowboy Way, having worked 10 years under former OSU guard, Brooks Thompson,” Lutz said in a press statement. “He is a builder of defenses and strong relationships, two things that frequently go hand in hand. To find talented, morally-driven men, we’ll rely on his recruiting connections throughout the Midwest in addition to his capacity for motivation and instruction. Join me in extending a warm welcome to Robert, Melissa, Alivia, and Shiloh as new members of the Cowboy Basketball family.
