David Fitzgerald appointed First Team and Senior Professional Development Coach
David Fitzgerald has been appointed as Senior Professional Development Coach and First Team Coach, adding strength to Ged Brannan’s backroom staff.
Fitzgerald played with Accrington Stanley for 11 years, split into two distinct periods, with a productive time at Bury in between.
He has gained a tremendous deal of coaching and recruiting expertise throughout that period, having brought numerous players into the Wham Stadium first team.
Speaking on his arrival at the Mazuma Mobile Stadium, Fitzgerald said: “I’m really looking forward to it, my prior experience has given me a good grounding around League’s One and Two.
“I’ve worked with Ged at Accrington Stanley, we’ve gotten to know each other well and we have the same level of understanding, I know what he is looking to do and where he wants to go.
“Coming here with having a young squad, it’s a great environment for me and the challenge is, moving forward, hopefully to help and support the players, and to improve them and progress us up the league.”
