The Pitt Panthers signed a gifted transfer wide receiver from Kentucky to bolster their secondary.

A football player for the Georgia Bulldogs will join the Kentucky WildcatsAnglin redshirted and missed one season of college at Kentucky, which allowed Pitt to offer him four additional years of eligibility.

As a senior, he led his Lake Wales High School team in 2022 to its first-ever Florida High School Athletic Association Class 3A State Title and its first-ever undefeated season, finishing with a 15-0 record. He played for Lake Wales High School in Lake Wales, Florida.

As a senior, Anglin led the team in interceptions with eight and pass breakups with twenty. He also recorded 54 tackles, six forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery. At 6-foot-1 and 185 pounds, Anglin performed exceptionally well.

Rivals gave him a three-star rating, while 247Sports and On3 gave him a four-star rating. While On3 had him at No. 222 in the country, No. 20 at his position, and No. 45 in Florida, 247Sports ranked him as the No. 412 recruit in the country, No. 39 safety, and No. 76 in Florida.

 

When Anglin was recruiting, Tennessee, Alabama, Penn State, Jackson State, Florida State, Kentucky, and UCF were among his top eight choices, including Pitt. He also paid Pitt an official visit, and it appears that Archie Collins, the secondary coach, and Cory Sanders, the safety coach, knew exactly what to do once Anglin entered the transfer.

Along with fifth-year Nebraskan Tamon Lynum, he is the first player to transfer to Pitt after spring practices ended and the second defensive back to join the team this offseason.

The Panthers have Lynum, redshirt seniors Rashad Battle and Jahvante Royal, redshirt juniors Javon McIntyre, Tamarion Crumpley, and Noah Biglow, redshirt sophomore Ryland Gandy, redshirt freshmen Shadarian Harrison, Cruce Brookins, Jesse Anderson, and Anglin, as well as incoming freshmen Allen Byrant, Nigel Maynard, and Davion Pritchard as scholarship defensive backs.

With defensive end, Pitt has 86 scholarships, or 87 overall. This season, Nate Temple has been out with a medical redshirt, exceeding the roster cap of 85. In the upcoming weeks, expect more players to leave the program through transfers.
