Exeter forward Aitchison signs new two-year deal
Jack Aitchison, a forward for Exeter City, has agreed to a new two-year deal with the League One team.
With 41 appearances since joining the team from Motherwell last summer, the 24-year-old has scored four goals.
He still had a year left on his current contract, but he will now be a Grecian until 2026.
Exeter were 13th in League One at the end of the season.
“When I joined I didn’t really know what I was coming into, such a long way from home, but after the first couple of days it felt quite homely and I have enjoyed it so far,” Aitchison told Exeter’s website.
Although I believe I’ve been playing well both on and off the ball, I’m a little sad that I haven’t met the goals the coach and I set for ourselves. Still, it has been fantastic that I have been in almost every game.”
Before relocating permanently to Barnsley in 2020, Aitchison had a stint on loan at Dumbarton, Alloa Athletic, and Forest Green Rovers. He started his career at Celtic in his home country of Scotland.
He first played on loan at Stevenage, then briefly at Forest Green, before returning north of the line to Motherwell in January 2023 on a six-month contract.
That July, he signed up with Exeter as a free agent.
