B.C. Lions release four players including defensive back Isaiah Abraham
According to the CFL Transactions page, the B.C. Lions released defensive tackle Janathian Turner, linebacker Jack Hinsperger, and defensive backs Justin Ford and Isaiah Abraham on Saturday.
Jack Hinsperger weighs 212 pounds and is six feet tall. In six games with the B.C. Lions in 2023, the 25-year-old from Waterloo, Ontario, recorded four tackles on special teams. In the 61st pick of the seventh round of the 2023 CFL Draft, Hinsperger was selected by the B.C. Lions.
In his three seasons as a collegiate player at Waterloo (2018, 2021–2022), Hinsperger totaled 113 tackles (88 solo, 25 assisted), 12 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, one 17-yard interception, one pass breakup, one fumble recovery, and one 18-yard kick return in 20 games for the Warriors. In 2022, he was selected as an OUA First-Team All-Star.
Isaiah Abraham weights 225 pounds and is six feet one inch tall. Abraham, who was born in Independence, Oregon, signed a contract on May 7, 2024, with the B.C. Lions.
Collegiately, Abraham played five seasons at Western Oregon (2018-23) making 135 tackles (93 solo, 42 assists), 18 tackles for loss, six sacks, one interception, four pass breakups, five forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and one blocked kick in 44 games for the Wolves.
Justin Ford is six foot two and weighs 200 pounds. The 24-year-old from Concord, North Carolina, signed with the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent and later attended rookie minicamp. After the Ravens released him, he signed with the Minnesota Vikings and attended their rookie minicamp.
