Ottawa Redblacks move two players to the retired list

According to the CFL Transactions page, the Ottawa Redblacks placed linebacker Josh White and running back T.J. Hammonds on the retired list on Tuesday.

T.J. Hammonds weighs 195 pounds and is five feet ten inches tall. In ten games with the Seattle Sea Dragons in 2023, the 26-year-old from Little Rock, Arkansas, had 32 carries for 167 yards, one score, 12 catches for 61 yards, and one kick return for 12 yards. In the 2023 XFL Draft, the Sea Dragons selected Hammonds with the eleventh overall pick in the second round. On May 6, 2024, the Redblacks signed Hammonds as a free agent.

In his six seasons as a collegiate player for Arkansas (2016–21), Hammonds amassed 80 carries for 543 yards and two touchdowns, 13 catches for 221 yards and two scores, and four 50-yard kick returns for the Razorbacks in 50 games.

Josh White weights 190 pounds and is six feet two. The Regina, Saskatchewan, native, 23, recorded two tackles in a single Redblacks preseason game in 2023. On December 6, 2023, White signed a contract with the Redblacks, having been selected by them with the 25th overall pick in the third round of the 2023 CFL Draft.
