Could The Houston Rockets Pursue Cavs Guard Donovan Mitchell?
When Brian Windhorst of ESPN mentioned last week that the Houston Rockets would be interested in Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell this summer, it caused some people to take notice. The Miami Heat, Brooklyn Nets, and Los Angeles Lakers were among the other clubs mentioned.
With only one year left on his contract (2024–2025) before he can exercise a player option and become an unrestricted free agent, Mitchell’s future is unclear. Next season, Mitchell is expected to make $35.41 million. with a blockbuster trade with Utah prior to the 2022–2023 season, the Cavaliers acquired Mitchell with the hopes of propelling the young nucleus of Evan Mobley, Jarrett Allen, and Darius Garland into title contention. The Boston Celtics defeated the Cavaliers on Wednesday to send them out of the postseason.
